O comparativo e o superlativo

As palavras curtas levam -er, as compridas levam more.

Os adjetivos de uma sílaba e os de duas acabados em -y fazem o comparativo com -er e -est: old – older – the oldest, easy – easier – the easiest. Todos os mais compridos levam more e the most: interesting – more interesting – the most interesting.

São irregulares good – better – the best, bad – worse – the worst, far – further/farther – the furthest, little – less – the least, much/many – more – the most.

Na comparação vai than. Para a igualdade vai as … as: as big as. O superlativo leva sempre the.

Falsch:My flat is bigger as yours.
Richtig:My flat is bigger than yours.

Igual: as … as. Diferente: than.
