to be

She is a teacher y She is tired usan el mismo verbo.

En inglés todas van con to be: I am hungry, I am thirsty, I am cold, I am right, I am thirty. El calco I have thirty years no significa nada.

Die typisch deutsche Falle

Aufgepasst

Las expresiones con «tener» son la trampa mayor del hispanohablante en toda la gramática inglesa, porque no suenan a error: I have thirty years está bien construido y no quiere decir nada. Añádase que «hay» es there is y no it has, y ya están juntos los dos errores que más delatan a un principiante.

Falsch:I have hunger and I have thirty years.
Richtig:I am hungry and I am thirty.

Hambre, sed, edad y razón: todo con to be.
