The Heating Is Not Working
A Mira liga ao senhorio: o aquecimento está frio há dois dias.
Uma conversa telefónica com o senhorio. Repara em como a Mira se mantém simpática, mas firme — e no que fica exatamente combinado no fim.
Hello, Mr Patel. This is Mira from the second floor. I am sorry to call so late.
No problem, Mira. What can I do for you?
The heating in my flat has not been working since Sunday. It is very cold, and at night it is even worse.
Since Sunday? Why did you not call earlier?
I thought it would come back by itself. I also tried turning it off and on again, but nothing happened.
I see. The man who usually repairs it is on holiday until Thursday. I can ask another company, but they are more expensive.
I understand, but I cannot wait until Thursday. I work from home, and it is only fourteen degrees in the living room.
You are right. I will call the other company this evening. Can somebody let them in tomorrow morning?
Yes, I am at home all day. When will they come?
Probably between eight and ten. And if you need it, I can bring you a small heater later today.
That would be great. Thank you very much.
