中文母语者最容易踩的坑

最常见的错误是在 if 从句里加 will。中文的“如果你把水加热，它就会沸腾”里有“会”，很容易被译成 will。可是规律不属于将来，而是一直如此，所以两个部分都用一般现在时。will 在三种条件句的 if 从句里都不该出现，在这一类里更不该出现。

第 0 类描述的不是某个具体条件，而是一种规律：只要这样，就总会那样。两个部分都用一般现在时：If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils。
辨认它的方法很简单：把 if 换成 when 或 whenever，意思完全不变。它用于自然规律、机器的运作方式、规章制度和个人习惯。
中文说“水烧到一百度就会开”，有个“会”字，于是不少人写成 it will boil。但这里的“会”说的是规律，不是将来；英语的规律用一般现在时就够了。还要记住：主语是 he、she、it 时，动词照样要加 -s：it boils，it melts。
