한국어 화자가 빠지기 쉬운 함정

주의

interested about, good in은 한국어 조사 “~에 대해”, “~에”를 떠올리며 고른 전치사예요. 이런 짝은 한국어로 추측하지 말고 통째로 외우세요. 그리고 전치사 뒤에는 to 부정사가 올 수 없어요. I am interested in to learn은 틀리고, in learning이 맞아요.

많은 형용사가 정해진 전치사와 함께 쓰여요: good at, bad at, interested in, afraid of, proud of, tired of, famous for, responsible for, similar to, different from, married to, keen on, worried about, sorry about/for, full of, aware of.

명사도 마찬가지예요: a reason for, an increase in, a solution to, an answer to, a reply to, the difference between, an example of, a demand for, the effect on.

한국어 조사에 끌려가면 틀린 전치사를 고르기 쉬워요. “~에 관심이 있다”는 interested about이나 interested on이 아니라 interested in이에요. “~을 잘하다”는 good in이 아니라 good at, “~이 자랑스럽다”는 proud of예요. “~와 다르다”는 different from(영국식) 또는 different than(미국식), “질문의 답”은 the answer of가 아니라 the answer to예요.
