Una trampa típica

Incorrecto ⟦I want pay⟧ by card.

Correcto ⟦I would like to pay⟧ by card.

«Quiero pagar con tarjeta» se traslada palabra por palabra y salen dos fallos a la vez: I want pay by card. Falta el to, que en inglés va siempre entre want o would like y el verbo. Y want suena brusco con alguien que te atiende, aunque «quiero» no lo sea en español: lo normal es I would like to pay.

Deseos: would like, want, like
