Una trampa típica

Incorrecto Having finished the meeting, the taxi was already waiting.

Correcto Having finished the meeting, we found the taxi already waiting.

El mismo participio colgante que en las relativas reducidas, solo que aquí es más frecuente, porque la construcción va delante y el sujeto de la principal todavía no está escrito. Escribe primero la principal y comprueba después si su sujeto puede sostener el participio. Y no evites la forma por sonar solemne: en inglés no lo es.
