Che cosa ha di particolare questo verbo

La trappola tipica

Sbagliato The phone is ringing. — I get it.

Giusto The phone is ringing. — I will get it.

Il futuro italiano guarda in due direzioni e quello inglese in una sola. «Saranno le cinque» parla dell'adesso e tradotto con will dice un'altra cosa: in inglese si fa con must. E nel senso opposto, il presente italiano dell'offerta — «vado io», «te lo porto» — ha bisogno di will, altrimenti descrive un'abitudine.
