Two Tickets

Un biglietto al distributore, una fila e un orologio che corre.

Frasi brevi, quasi tutte al Simple Present, e molti orari: at ten, at five past nine, at half past nine. Chi legge il testo impara l’ora senza esercitarla.

It is Friday. Rosa is at the station. She needs two tickets. The machine is by the door. A long line waits at the machine.

Rosa waits too. The man before her is slow. He has many small coins. The machine takes them one by one. Rosa looks at the clock.

Now it is her turn. She wants two tickets to the sea. But the machine says: no coins today. It wants a card. Rosa has a card in her bag.

The tickets come out. They are warm and new. Rosa puts them in her coat. Her train goes at ten. It is five past nine.

She buys bread and an apple. Then she sits on a bench. The sun is on the wall. Nina comes at half past nine. They are early.
