The body, illness and advice. Watch der Kopf tut ihr weh: German says that something hurts to someone, with the dative. And the doctor’s advice comes in the polite imperative — Bleiben Sie …, trinken Sie … —, with the verb first and Sie after it.

Am Montag ist Sara krank. Sie hat Fieber, und der Kopf tut ihr weh. Sie ruft im Büro an und sagt, dass sie heute nicht kommen kann.

Um zehn Uhr geht sie zum Arzt. In der Praxis sitzen schon viele Leute. Sie muss fast eine Stunde warten.

Der Arzt fragt: „Was fehlt Ihnen denn?“ Sara sagt: „Ich habe Fieber, und der Hals tut mir weh.“ Der Arzt sagt, es ist eine Erkältung.

Er gibt ihr ein Rezept und sagt: „Bleiben Sie drei Tage zu Hause und trinken Sie viel Tee.“ Am Donnerstag geht es Sara wieder gut.
