Le riz de ma grand-mère

Ma grand-mère cuisine toujours sans livre. Elle met la casserole sur le feu, coupe l’oignon et ne regarde jamais l’heure. Elle dit qu’elle sent le temps avec le nez.
D’abord elle fait chauffer un peu d’huile. Puis elle met l’oignon et attend qu’il devienne clair, pas foncé. Elle ajoute le riz et le tourne pendant deux minutes, toujours avec la cuillère en bois.
Maintenant vient le bouillon, mais petit à petit. Ma grand-mère ne verse pas tout ensemble. Chaque fois elle attend que le riz boive, puis elle en met encore. Comme ça pendant vingt minutes.
À la fin elle coupe le feu et met le beurre et le fromage. Elle couvre la casserole et compte jusqu’à trois minutes. Elle dit que c’est le secret et que personne n’a la patience pour cette partie.
Le plat arrive chaud sur la table. Il n’est pas dur et pas trop cuit. Ma grand-mère regarde et ne dit rien, mais on voit qu’elle est contente.
