Una giornata in ufficio

From nine to six, with a printer that will not cooperate.

The first text in this series that covers a whole working day. It is the best practice for contractions: in ufficio, al fiume, ai messaggi, delle vacanze, alla fermata — there is one in every other sentence.

Rita lavora in un ufficio piccolo vicino al fiume. Arriva alle nove e accende il computer. Sul tavolo ci sono due quaderni, una penna e una tazza di caffè.

La mattina risponde ai messaggi. Una cliente chiede il prezzo; Rita scrive la risposta e manda il file. Poi fissa una riunione per giovedì.

A mezzogiorno mangia una minestra con una collega. Parlano del tempo, del lavoro e delle vacanze di agosto. La collega dice che va a Firenze in treno.

Il pomeriggio la stampante non funziona. Rita chiama il tecnico. Dice che è la carta e aggiusta tutto in cinque minuti.

Alle sei Rita spegne il computer e mette in ordine il tavolo. Fuori c’è ancora il sole. Va a piedi fino alla fermata e aspetta l’autobus.
