駅と空港
案内表示、手荷物、乗り継ぎ。
駅や空港では、ほとんどのことが表示に書いてあります。ただし、授業で習う単語では書かれていません。baggage reclaim、off-peak、hold luggageは単語というより標識の言葉で、しかも急いでいるときに読むことになります。このリストは、実際に表示の前に立つ前に知っておくためのものです。luggageとbaggageはどちらも数えられない名詞なので、「荷物2個」はtwo pieces of luggageやtwo bagsと言います。また、日本語の「ゲート」「ホーム」は英語ではそれぞれgate、platformです。homeと言っても駅のホームは伝わりません。
