주제 없는 기본 단어 II

재귀대명사, 방법을 나타내는 부사, 그리고 무언가를 분류할 때 쓰는 단어들이에요.

앞 목록에 이어지는 단어들이에요. 거의 모든 대화에 나오지만 어느 주제에도 넣기 어려운 말들이죠. -ly로 끝나는 부사는 일부러 모아 두었어요. 하나를 알면 거의 다 알 수 있어요. quiet은 “조용한”, quietly는 “조용히”예요. 한국어는 “-한”과 “-히/-게”로 구분하고, 영어는 단어 끝의 -ly로 구분해요. 그래서 He spoke quiet.는 틀린 문장이에요. herself, itself 같은 재귀대명사도 주의하세요. 한국어는 “자기”나 “스스로” 하나로 충분하지만, 영어는 주어의 인칭, 성별, 단수와 복수에 맞춰야 해요: They did it themselves.

reach 뒤에는 장소가 바로 와요: reach the station. reach to the station은 틀려요.

“~의 것이다”는 belong to + 사람이에요.
