テーマ外の単語2

どの文にも出てくるのに、どのテーマにも入らない単語の続き。

その続きです。2文に1回は出てくるのに、特定のテーマを持たないためにどのテーマ別リストにも入らない単語を集めました。-lyで終わる副詞はわざとまとめてあります。quiet→quietly、careful→carefullyのように、1つ覚えればほとんど全部が作れます。日本語の「静かに」「注意深く」と同じ働きですが、英語では置く場所が比較的自由で、He closed the door quietly.のように文末に来ることがよくあります。もう1つの山場はherself・themselvesなどの「〜自身」です。日本語の「自分」は誰にでも使えますが、英語は主語に合わせて形を変えなければなりません。

reachは他動詞なので前置詞は不要です。reach the stationであり、reach to the stationとは言いません。
