Everyday Hindi: greetings, friends and the three yous

Greeting, chatting, making plans and saying sorry — and choosing the right one of the three words for “you”.

34 sentences · 3 dialogues · 18 words

Why this field

Everyday Hindi is where you will spend most of your time: greeting neighbours, chatting over tea, making plans and cancelling them politely. It is also where you learn the most important choice in the language — which "you" to use.

This page gathers the sentences for an ordinary day with friends, neighbours and new acquaintances, from a first hello to a polite excuse.
