Practise offline
Whatever you open here stays on the device by itself. One press and the site fetches everything else as well — once, and after that you can practise on the train, in the waiting room and on the plane without a connection. Your progress was only ever stored here anyway.
Take everything with you
Offline practice needs a browser with service workers and a page served over https. Neither is the case here right now.

Which mode?
To get started Four answers to choose from, and the round puts itself together. If you do not know what to practise, press here.
Daily dose One button instead of ten decisions: revision that is due first, then your own mistakes, then something new. In order From the start through the chosen level or area. At random A mix of everything that fits your selection. Smart revision Only what is due today. What you know comes back in five weeks. Speed round 90 seconds, as many exercises as will fit. Level test The same number of exercises from every level. Shows where you stand.
Revise and go deeper Builds on what is already there — mistakes, the saved list, weakest areas, texts you have read.
Only my mistakes Everything that has gone wrong before and has not stuck yet. Saved list What you marked yourself while reading. Weakest areas first Sorted by area, the shakiest first — and then in full. Card box One word, four answers, a speaker. The three wrong ones come from the same list and the same part of speech — otherwise you could rule them out without knowing the word. Ease back in Ten exercises you once got right — for the day you come back after a break. Not a test, and what is due will not run away. Words from texts you have read Exactly the words that occur in the reading texts you have marked as read — the way back from reading to practice. A word you have seen in a sentence already has a hook to hang on.
With sound Needs a voice in the browser. Here you type rather than click: the writing is the exercise.
Listen and write A word is spoken and you write what you heard. The only exercise here with nothing to read. Sentence dictation A whole sentence is spoken and you write what you heard. Punctuation and capitals do not count — you cannot hear them. Listen and tell apart Two words that differ in one sound — one is spoken and you say which. Only the sounds English does not have.
Other kinds of exercise Not the default but a deliberate choice: judging yourself, arranging word cards.
Flashcards Each card asks and you answer yourself — for grammar the rule and its example, for vocabulary the word, in both directions. Word order Put word cards in the right order. The one thing no other exercise checks: you can get every word right and the sentence wrong.
