L’appel du dimanche

Le téléphone sonne le dimanche après-midi. C’est la mère de Thomas. Elle demande quel temps il fait à Paris et s’il mange bien.

Thomas dit qu’il fait chaud et qu’il a fait une soupe. La mère rit et dit qu’une soupe n’est pas un repas.

Ensuite le père parle. Il demande des nouvelles du travail et de l’appartement neuf. Thomas dit que le loyer est cher, mais que le quartier est calme et que la fenêtre donne sur un jardin.

La sœur de Thomas veut parler aussi. Elle a quatorze ans et elle veut venir à Paris en juillet. Thomas dit oui et qu’elle peut dormir dans la petite chambre.

À la fin la mère dit à dimanche. Thomas ferme le téléphone et reste un peu à la fenêtre. Dehors les gens passent lentement et le soleil descend derrière les toits.
