Wine, beer and other drinks
What is on a German drinks list, and the words a waiter expects back.
Two questions get asked at almost every German table, and both need a word from this list. Ordering water, you are asked mit Sprudel oder still?; ordering wine, the choice is trocken, halbtrocken or lieblich, which is sweetness and not quality. Herb belongs to beer rather than to wine and is a compliment there.
