Telephone and internet in German
Answering a German phone, writing a German email, and the borrowed words that took German endings.
Germans answer the telephone with their surname, not with "hello". Müller. — that is the whole greeting, and a caller who says nothing back is being rude. Business calls add the company: Schmidt, Firma Berger, guten Tag. The vocabulary here is full of English words that have been given German grammar. Das Handy is a mobile phone and is not English at all; downloaden conjugates as ich downloade, downgeloadet, which nobody enjoys, so herunterladen is the safer choice. Die App, der Link and die Mail took genders and plurals like any other noun.
