Le premier matin
A first day at work, from six o’clock to the first break.
The easiest text in this series. Everything is in the present tense, the sentences are short, and the story is one everybody knows. Watch for the contractions as you read: au bureau, du pain, des nuages — in French the preposition merges with the article, and à le does not exist.
