A common trap

Wrong Nous partissons demain.

Right Nous partons demain.

Not every verb in -ir belongs here. partir, sortir, dormir and venir have no -iss- and forms of their own. Apply the rule to them and you get je partis — which exists, but as a past tense out of a novel.
