Saying where
Up and down, in front and behind, near and far, and the four points of the compass.
Most of these work two ways. On their own they are adverbs — मेरा कमरा ऊपर है, “my room is upstairs” — and after a noun with के they become postpositions: मेज़ के ऊपर, “on top of the table”; घर के पीछे, “behind the house”. The noun before के stands in the oblique: कमरे के अंदर.
