Reasoning and ethics

This page gives the vocabulary of arguing carefully in German. It takes no ethical position and settles no question: the words are tools, and what is done with them belongs to the reader. Much of it comes from a tradition that named its abstractions rather than borrowing them — der Begriff, die Vernunft, das Bewusstsein are all built from ordinary German roots, which makes them transparent and slightly harder to translate.
