谈到住房，英式英语和美式英语差别特别明显：公寓英式叫 flat，美式叫 apartment；楼层的数法也不同——英国的 ground floor 是中国人说的一楼，first floor 是二楼；美国则和中国一样，一楼就是 first floor。两种说法都认识，就都能听懂；混着用，找房子时就容易被误解。另外，furniture 和 rubbish 都不可数，而 home 在 go home 里前面不加 to。
