D'ici vendredi, ce sera fait.
will have plus la troisième forme désigne ce qui sera déjà achevé à un moment futur : By Friday I will have finished the report.
Une indication en by l'accompagne presque toujours : by then, by next week, by the time you arrive. Sans elle, la forme reste en l'air, car la question à laquelle elle répond est « pour quand ? ».
Le futur antérieur français lui correspond mot pour mot — « j'aurai fini » —, et c'est encore un cadeau. Le piège est le même qu'avec when : après « quand » ou « une fois que », le français met lui aussi le futur antérieur — « quand tu auras lu ceci » —, alors que l'anglais met après by the time un simple présent.

La forme est offerte, la subordonnée ne l'est pas. « Quand tu auras lu ceci » a deux marques de futur en français ; l'anglais n'en garde qu'une, dans la principale, et laisse la subordonnée au présent. C'est exactement la règle rencontrée avec when, une étape plus loin.
