La red de suministro extendida es tan fuerte como su eslabón más lento: the extended supply network is only as strong as its slowest link. This one runs the other way round from most of the list: English has a single word where Spanish has three, and the Spanish speaker is the one who has to choose. El eslabón is the physical link of a chain, the ring of metal, and that is the sense this list needs — el eslabón más débil is the weakest link. El enlace is a connection between two things: a rail connection, a hyperlink on a page, the person who acts as a go-between. El vínculo is the bond that holds people or ideas together. English calls all three a « link », which is why a page translated word for word will offer you a ring of chain to click on.
