Polish for cross-border commuters

Living on one side of the border and working on the other: Polish for the journey, the team, the contract and the money.

33 sentences · 2 dialogues · 15 words

Why this field

Along the Oder and the Neisse, the rivers between Poland and Germany, people cross the border to work every day in both directions — English speakers among them, in international firms and mixed teams where papers often come in two languages.

A commuter needs Polish for the journey (traffic, the bridge, the train), for colleagues, and for the contract, the pay and the insurance. Tax and insurance rules differ between the two countries — these sentences help you ask; the answer comes from an advice centre or the authority itself.
