Beyond head, hand and foot — the parts a doctor asks about and a physiotherapist names.
One grammatical habit runs through this whole page: German does not say "my knee" when it hurts. It puts the person in the dative and the body part with an ordinary article — mir tut das Knie weh, ich habe mir den Arm gebrochen. Using a possessive is understood and marks the speaker at once; the dative is the German way of saying whose it is.
