Two entries on this list share a verb, and the second is the one you will hear far from any clinic. Aufstoßen is what a stomach does after a fizzy drink: to belch, or, of food, to repeat on you. Seit Wochen stößt sie nach dem Essen auf is a line from a history of reflux. Put sauer in front of it and a person in the dative, and the sour taste leaves the body: Die Bemerkung ist mir sauer aufgestoßen means the remark rankled. English reaches for a similar picture when something « leaves a bad taste in the mouth », but German keeps the whole digestive image, acid and all. Two details of grammar travel with the shift.
