Das Rezept der Oma
A recipe that was never written down, and a grandson who tries.
A text that tells a sequence: zuerst, dann, danach, am Ende. With these four words you can describe any recipe and any way to work. Notice the passive with werden where it does not matter who does something: die Kartoffeln werden gekocht.
Meine Oma macht einen Salat aus Kartoffeln, den die ganze Familie liebt, aber sie hat das Rezept nie aufgeschrieben. Letzten Sonntag habe ich ihr deshalb in der Küche genau zugesehen.
Zuerst werden die Kartoffeln mit der Schale gekocht. Dann lässt sie sie kalt werden, schält sie und schneidet sie in dünne Scheiben.
Danach schneidet sie eine Zwiebel sehr klein und kocht sie kurz in Brühe. Die heiße Brühe gießt sie über die Kartoffeln, dazu kommen Essig, Öl, Salz und Pfeffer.
Als ich fragte, wie viel Salz sie nimmt, sagte sie nur: „So viel, wie es braucht.“ Am Ende muss der Salat eine Stunde ziehen. Die wichtigste Zutat, sagt meine Oma, ist Geduld.
