Free time and hobbies

Sport, music, films, photos, outings and what people do at the weekend.

Many leisure words are a verb with its own object built in: 唱歌(chànggē)is "sing songs"跳舞(tiàowǔ)"dance dances"跑步(pǎobù)"run steps" So "I like singing" is simply 我(wǒ)喜欢(xǐhuan)唱歌(chànggē), with no object to add. And 玩儿(wánr) is much wider than "play": adults use it for an outing, a visit or a holiday.
