Chinese quiz
Twenty questions across grammar and vocabulary, drawn from 6847 exercises. What you get at the end is not a percentage but which level holds and which area is shaky.
What this quiz tells you — and what it does not
It draws from a set that is out in the open: 6847 exercises, each assigned to a level and an area. That is why it can tell you more than a number at the end. Once you have answered twenty questions, you see on which levels things went smoothly and where they fall apart — and that is information you can work with.
It is not a placement test. Establishing a level would mean testing speaking, listening and free writing as well — a website cannot do that, and anyone who claims to is testing something else and calling it by that name. What comes out here is a self-assessment based on your own answers on grammar and vocabulary. A recognised certificate comes from an examination centre.
And one more thing that sets a quiz apart from an exercise: a quiz measures, an exercise teaches. If you want to get better, the practice modes will serve you better — there, whatever went wrong comes back, and it does so just when you would otherwise have forgotten it. The quiz only tells you where you stand right now.
