政府部门与表格
这些词恰恰在你没法查词典的时候用得上。
英语的公文用语比中文的“公文腔”简洁，但同样有自己的一套说法。这份清单收的是表格上会出现的词——尤其是那些不认识就只能靠猜的词。几个要点：“填表”是 fill in a form（美式 fill out），不是 write a form；证件“过期”用动词 expire，“续办”用 renew；排队是 queue up（美式 stand in line）。很多句子用被动语态，比如 Applications must be submitted by Friday.，这里的 by 是“在……之前”，表示截止时间。
