More about this list

An instrument is not played with oynamak, like a game, but with çalmak: keman çalmak“to play the violin”bağlama çalmak“to play the saz” — English uses “play” for both A collector biriktirmeks, “saves up”, and a club member is an üye. The person behind an art often has -çi, like English -ist: sanat → sanatçı “artist”, though ressam “painter”, şair “poet” and müzisyen “musician” stand on their own.
