Free time, arrangements and media
Sport, culture and hobbies, making arrangements, phone and internet, newspapers and the news.
What holds these lists together
One verb stands out straight away: çalmak means to play an instrument, to ring and to steal — the sentence tells you which. When making arrangements Turkish separates a fixed appointment at the doctor’s or the hairdresser’s, randevu, from meeting friends, buluşma. On the phone you answer with Alo? or Efendim?. And at B1 newspapers, television and the news are added, with the words you hear there every day.
For example: spor (sport), cep telefonu (mobile phone), randevu (appointment), gazete (newspaper), çevrim içi (online), sanat (art)
