More about this list

In English you are afraid “of” something, angry “with” someone and pleased “about” something, and the preposition has to be learned with the word. Turkish does the same with a case, firmly tied to the verb: -den korkmak“to be afraid of” (ablative)-e kızmak“to be angry with” (dative)-e sevinmek“to be pleased about” (dative) Always learn the verb with its case. And many feelings are adjectives that take the person ending directly: heyecanlıyım “I am excited”.
