Sürpriz parti

Friends secretly plan a birthday party for Zeynep.

Here the future in -ecek/-acak stands beside the past: first the plan (getirecek, yapacak), then the story (beklediler). Watch -elim, “let’s”: yapalım, izleyelim. And İyi ki doğdun! — “how good that you were born” — is what Turkish says for “happy birthday”.

Cuma günü Zeynep'in doğum günü. Arkadaşları ona bir sürpriz parti hazırlıyor.

Planı Can yaptı: “Partiyi benim evimde yapalım. Herkes bir şey getirecek.” Selin bir tatlı yapacak. Ali içecekleri alacak. Murat müzik getirecek.

Zeynep hiçbir şey bilmiyor. Can ona sadece “Cuma akşamı bize gel, birlikte film izleyelim,” dedi.

Cuma akşamı saat sekizde herkes Can'ın evindeydi.
