This is the list where English adjectives sit still and Spanish ones do not. Every adjective ending in -o has an -a form, and it agrees with the person speaking rather than with anything in the room: a woman says estoy contenta, estoy cansada, me pongo nerviosa. Adjectives ending in -e or in a consonant — alegre, amable, paciente — have one form for everybody, and egoísta keeps its -a for a man too. So the first thing to settle when saying how you feel is not the word but its last letter.
