Enrolling, sitting, passing — and what the transcript says.
Las comillas are quotation marks, and the word is a diminutive: little commas, which is what they look like. Printed Spanish opens with « and closes with », keeps the double straight ones for a quotation inside a quotation, and reserves the single ones for the level below that. The order matters more than the shape, because a text that mixes them is a text nobody can follow. And the punctuation goes outside: dijo «no lo sé». — the full stop after the closing mark, never before it.
