Table, key, query, transaction — and why a field may be empty.
La vista here is the stored query a reader looks at a table through, and English calls that a « view » as well. The Spanish word then goes on to do jobs English hands to other words. La vista is eyesight — tiene buena vista has nothing to do with scenery — and it is the view out of a window, and in a courtroom la vista oral is the hearing, the day the case is actually spoken aloud. English needs « sight », « view » and « hearing » for those, one of them borrowed from a different sense altogether. What holds the Spanish together is simply the act of looking.
