Nature, weather and animals
The weather and the seasons, animals and plants, landscape and the environment.
What holds these lists together
Polish weather usually comes as an adverb with no “it”: jest zimno, it’s cold, and pada deszcz, it’s raining — literally “rain falls”. With the animals it pays to look at the landscape that makes Poland what it is: the bocian, the stork nesting on a village roof or pole, the dzik, the wild boar on the edge of town, forests, lakes and the Tatras. The lists go from the umbrella via yard and meadow to the words you need for the environment, recycling and climate.
For example: pogoda (weather), ptak (bird), środowisko (environment; milieu), wilk (wolf), smog (smog)
