Money, shopping and offices
Shopping and clothes, bank and money, post and parcels, forms and authorities.
What holds these lists together
All these lists are about paying for something, handing something in or picking something up — at the till, at the bank counter, at the paczkomat or at the okienko of an office. You pay in złoty and grosze, and even the price is grammar: dwa złote, but pięć złotych, because the number decides the case of the noun. At the office come the words you would rather not have to look up when you need them: wniosek, zaświadczenie, podpis. Clothes are here because above all you buy them, try them on and take them back.
For example: ubranie (piece of clothing; clothes), cena (price), formularz (form), paczka (parcel; packet), grosz (grosz (a hundredth of a złoty)), załatwić (to sort out, to deal with, to get done)
