Urodziny babci

The family plans a party for Grandma Zofia — and Grandma knows nothing about it.

First the future, then the past. In the first part the perfective verbs are in the present form and mean the future: mama zrobi “Mum will make”, tata kupi, Ewa napisze. There is no “will” in them at all. In the second part the text tells how it then went: otworzyła, zobaczyła, śpiewali.

Wszyscy śpiewali „Sto lat”, a potem jedli sernik i pili kawę.
