Nowi sąsiedzi

Mrs Halina is annoyed with the young family upstairs — until one evening the lights go out.

A story about neighbours, in the past tense. Watch the politeness: an older woman is spoken of as pani Halina, never just by her first name. And watch the vocative at the end: little Kuba calls her babciu, the form of babcia used to address someone.

Wtedy do drzwi zadzwonił Michał.

Kuba mówi do niej „babciu”.
