Work and jobs

The office, the people in it, and getting there and back.

Korean asks what somebody does with 무슨 일 하세요?, literally “what work do you do?”. Going to work and leaving it each have a verb of their own, 출근하다 and 퇴근하다, and where English says someone works for a company, Korean usually says they attend it: 회사에 다녀요. The boss is 사장님, with the honorific 님 — and so is the owner of any shop or restaurant.
