A common trap

Wrong Non so se venisse domani.

Right Non so se viene domani.

Se means whether here and not if in the conditional sense, and any congiuntivo after it follows the main clause. Non so se venga is careful Italian; se venisse only fits after a past tense — non sapevo se venisse. English uses if for both jobs, which is exactly what makes the two easy to confuse.
