Directions and the road
Left and right, turning and crossing, traffic, petrol and getting lost.
Right and left are adjectives that change their ending: दायाँ हाथ, but दाईं ओर “to the right” and दाएँ मुड़िए “turn right”. Directions are given with the polite imperative — सीधे जाइए, बाएँ मुड़िए, यहाँ रुकिए — and a landmark is “near” or “after” with के पास and के बाद.
