School and studying
The classroom, teachers and students, subjects, homework and exams.
Two verbs share the work English gives to “study” and “teach”: पढ़ना is to read and to study, पढ़ाना to teach a subject, while सीखना and सिखाना are learning and teaching a skill. Many school words have a formal Sanskrit form and an everyday English one, and both are heard: गृहकार्य and होमवर्क, पुस्तकालय and लाइब्रेरी. The everyday ones are listed here.
