Weather, animals and nature
The weather and the seasons, animals and plants, and the environment.
What holds these lists together
The Indian year has its own seasons, and the monsoon is the one that organises it: बरसात brings relief after the heat of May and June, and a whole vocabulary of clouds, downpours and flooded streets with it. Animals are part of everyday life in town as well as in the country — the cow in the street, the monkey on the roof, the peacock that is the national bird. The B1 list turns to the environment: pollution, water, forests and what a city does to the air.
